Berea, Ohio
Daune Jaynes is running for Berea City Council at Large.
Helping people has always been second nature to Daune. Working with the North End Foundation and Peoples Community Church, she started the Thanksgiving Dinner. Last year, despite the pandemic, they served over 125 people making sure they had a hot holiday meal.
Daune’s involvement includes working at the Berea Community Outreach Department. She organized programs to distribute food for those in need, revied the Berea Cares program, and started the Dinner to Your Door program here in Berea.
The Christmas holiday can be a difficult time for special needs and the elderly, the pandemic only made things worse. With the help of community organizations such as the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Daune organized the stocking program for the residents at Quarrytown Estates. The 181 residents received a stocking with personal products as well as a gift card to local stores.
Having served her community, Daune is looking forward to expanding the outreach of our city by serving on Berea’s City Council.
