Recharge Cafe is Berea’s newest restaurant. It serves up a delicious array of breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a unique spin on comfort food. Last year, Kelly and Anndrea opened this cafe to provide a relaxing atmosphere that allows its customers to recharge and take a break from the hassles of life.
Going to the cafe can be an event to be enjoyed with friends and family. There are canvases and painting supplies for the artistically inclined. Moreover, they offer events to teach the not-so-artistically inclined how to paint.
Kelly’s dad is a chef who learned his trade at the culinary program at Tri-C. While this may be Kelly’s and Anndrea’s first cafe, they run it like seasoned professionals. Talking to Kelly about the creations his dad makes, it is clear the apple did not fall far from the tree.
It is no surprise, Kelly and Anndrea met when they were working in Berea. Was it love at first sight? They wouldn’t say, but it’s obvious they have a great connection with a desire to help people and make them feel comfortable.
Kelly told the story about their time working out of a basement in Ohio City. They would host events with coloring and painting. However, it was Kelly’s shrimp and grits along with his mac and cheese that would draw the crowds. There would be a line out the door of customers waiting to try his food.
While Kelly demonstrates his talents in the kitchen, he does not do this alone. Anndrea, who can hold her own, work with him to give the place that extra flair, making the cafe a destination you don’t want to miss.
