Taxes for Charity

This year, On the Mark Tax Service, is focused on giving back to the community. For every return prepared, On The Mark will donate $10 to a local charity. If the client wants to donate more, On the Mark will match the client’s donation up to $20. This means a $20 donation results in $50 for the charity. You can’t do much better than that.

On the Mark Tax Service is a local business run by attorney Mark Dent. He wears blue jeans and a dress shirt; professional, yet down-to-earth and approachable.  Mark has been preparing taxes for almost 20 years and lives with his wife Joanie on Clark Street in Berea.  Mark started preparing taxes as a JAG officer in the US Army.  He and his staff prepared thousands of tax returns for the Fort Drum community in upstate New York.  When you visit his tax service you can ask about his time in Iraq where he “Earned his spurs”.  He has a set of spurs hanging on the wall.  He was issued the “Order of the Spur” in 2002 after completing his tour in Iraq.  This allows him to wear his spurs and a stetson hat to any military events.

Having served in the military, Mark continues to look for ways to contribute to his community.  Now that he is a business owner, he is working to help those in need.

Charities to choose from include: Scan Hunger Center Pantry, Church Street Ministries (Food Pantry), The North End Foundation, and Berea Animal Rescue Fund.

This is a great way to help your favorite charity and get your taxes done at the same time!

Mark Dent

Hello! My name is Mark, I'm a Berea resident and owner of the Law Office of Mark Dent. I’ve been preparing estate plans since 2003 when I served in the Army as a JAG Attorney. I’m a graduate of Ohio Northern Law School and have bachelor's degrees in both Political Science and Computer Science. My wife and I enjoy running 5ks and exploring the Metro Parks. I am located around the corner from Dick’s Bakery, which I blame for my poor run times and an extra 5 pounds around my midsection. Unfortunately, their donuts are some of the best Ohio has to offer!
