Submitted Candidate Introduction

Signed Good Government Pledge

As I finish my second term on the Berea City School Board, I seek re-election for my third term. Our district, like most across the country has faced many challenges over the past several years and we have persevered. I believe we have the right administration and staff in place to continue to improve in all areas, and I would like to continue to be a part of making sure that happens.

My husband, Jay, and I are long-term residents of Middleburg Heights.  We have two children, Benjamin (Midpark ‘13) and Olivia (Berea-Midpark ‘17). Ben graduated from Cleveland State University with degrees in Film/Digital Media and Communication. Olivia graduated from Kent State University, majoring in Aeronautics and Mathematics, and is currently commissioned in the United States Air Force.

I have been active in the community for many years.

From a community standpoint, I served on the boards of the Middleburg Heights Food Pantry and the Cleveland Archery Club, the oldest archery club in the United States. I currently serve as the Treasurer of the Friends of the Middleburg Heights Library.

Within the City of Middleburg Heights, I previously served nearly 10 years on the Middleburg Heights Planning Commission.

Lastly, and most relevantly, in regards to the District, I served on PTA Boards, was heavily involved in the passage of the 2016 bond issue which allowed for the construction of Brook Park Elementary and Berea-Midpark High School, and served as the Board  Trustee of the Berea Schools Education Foundation. I currently serve on the district’s Financial Oversight Committee and Transportation Committee.

My interests include reading, music, and television, and spending time with her family, which includes her Great Dane, Eddie.
