Carol Fortlage became a member of the Governing Board in June 2003. She is a retired investment consultant, having been a partner in Hartland & Co. and a Vice President with Scudder, Stevens & Clark. She also currently serves on the City of Independence Board of Zoning Appeals (since 2004) and the Advisory Board of The Villages Apple User Group, the nation’s largest. Former service-oriented memberships include Ursuline College Investment Committee (2002-2016), Saint Luke’s Foundation Investment Committee (2010-2013), and Wesleyan Senior Living Board of Directors and its Finance/Properties Committee from 2002 through 2009. Carol earned an MBA in Finance from Cleveland State University. She resides in Independence with her husband Russell.
